I know this happened back in 2008 and not sure whether they still using the chemical to make the noodle more delicsious. Anyway, just to share out and hopefully, we will remind this as tip of the iceberg.

This restaurant is located in Fushan , China , serving very popular Lanzhou Ra- Mien (noodle) with daily sales of 700 – 1200 bowls…..

According to the boss, to make such ‘nice’ noodle, some chemical tenderizer
have been added during the mixing process.

According to the boss, all Lanzhou Ra Mien contain this harmful chemical.

This chemical is packed in two difference types of packaging. $3 for the white & $5 for the blue.

The functions of this chemical is to tenderize, improve elasticity/softness of the noodles…

Experiment conducted with this chemical in a paper cup, and you see for yourself, how much of damages this chemical can cause…..

Few light color spots soon appeared ouside the cup, may be the quality of paper cup is not good, the spots are not that clear.

On the second day, this chemical has sipped through the paper cup

This much of damage caused to the floor….

This is the floor after washing….

So, what do you think our stomach will become, after eating the delicious Ra-Mien ? And watch out when you travel to China.

The Chinese will do anything to make a fast buck and they don’t seem to be stopping !

China ‘s history with food safety is a rocky one, but even in the annals of robbery and abuse, this will go down in infamy. Various reports in Singapore media have said that Chinese companies are mass producing fake rice made, in part, out of plastic, according to one online publication Very Vietnam.

The “rice” is made by mixing potatoes, sweet potatoes and plastic. The potatoes are first formed into the shape of rice grains. Industrial synthetic resins are then added to the mix. The rice reportedly stays hard even after being cooked. The Korean-language Weekly Hong Kong reported that the fake rice is being sold in the Chinese town of Taiyuan , in Shaanxi province. “A Chinese Restaurant Association official said that eating three bowls of this fake rice would be like eating one plastic bag. Due to the seriousness of the matter, he added that there would be an investigation of factories alleged to be producing the rice,” Very Vietnam noted. Unfortunately, it ‘ s not the first time fake rice has been sold in China , according to China’s Global Times.

Previously, a company in Xi ‘ an , Shaanxi Province had added flavoring to ordinary rice to synthesize “Wuchang rice,” which is regarded to be the best rice in the country.

About 300,000 people were injured and at least six infants died in 2008 when Chinese milk and infant formula was found to be adulterated with melamine, which was thought to help the milk pass nutrition tests. Later that year, melamine was also discovered in Chinese eggs.

SINGAPORE- The agent of a popular mainland canned pork product has initiated a recall and suspended sales after tests showed a sample contained a cancer-causing antibiotic.
The Centre for Food Safety yesterday revealed this after laboratory tests showed a sample of Shanghai Ma Ling B2 340g pork luncheon meat (less sodium) was found to have traces of nitrofurans.

The batch number is B2 5 for the product, which carries a best-before date of December 26, 2009 . According to the sole agent, the canned pork was imported on only two occasions – last December and January this year. The scare spread when Singapore ‘s Agri -Food and Veterinary Authority detected carcinogenic traces in a consignment of canned pork from Ma Ling and Gulong food processing factories.
These brands have been banned from entering Singapore since August 2007 for containing nitrofurans( an antibiotic for pigs).
