Sorry guys to keep you waiting for my 2nd day report :)

Actually, I was awaken around 4am by someone who was very hard working in his work of chopping trees with his “chainsaw machine”. It started with the small trees and then to the big trees. I did not know how long it lasted but I know I was trying my best not to disturb this hard working man and getting myself very hard to get back to sleep. ;D :>> :) )

To the hard working man, I just come across an ad this morning in the newspaper, maybe you should bring along it next time when you go holiday so that you can reduce the sound of the machine. The product is called Silence. The price cost only RM54.88 for 50ml. I am sure you know where to get it, right ? ;)

This is the lodge that we stayed. To me, it was comfortable and cleaned.

P5101307

Across our lodge, there was a road named Gaya Street. The entire road was closed on Sunday to have this morning market. There were so many things we could buy in this morning market.

P5101297

We saw lovely rabits being sold also.

P5101298

And also many cute puppies could be found here.

P5101300

We were recommended to have our breakfast at this coffee shop as it is famous for its curry noodles. You just have to wait to get a table.

P5101303

There must be something so special that makes this coffee shop attracts so many people here.

P5101304

If I tell you this coffee shop serves food faster than Mc Donald, would you believe ? After we made our order, the noodles were served to us in less than 5 minutes. Unbelievable ? You better believe it ! :)

P5101305

Here it is,the famous curry noodles.

P5101335

After having a clear picture, you know what I mean having a hanging bridge is useful during flooding time. This bridge I called it “Tamparuli Bridge”.

P5101336

This is the market where you can buy a special type of “Chilli Padi.

P5101337

After our delicious lunch, we headed to Kinabalu Park. It started to rain while we were on our way there and the road was not that straight and flat, we reached Strawberry Garden Hotel in about 1 hour time, where we put up a night there.

After check-in, my brother in law brought us to Kinabalu Pine Resort to have a feel of the tranquil environment. We were supposed to stay here but it was fully booked.

Mount Kinabalu – Day 3

2009
05.14

Finally. the day has arrived for our mission to conquer the Mount Kota Kinabalu on 9 May 2009.

We were supposed to take off at 2.00pm but was delayed for about 30 minutes and when we landed at KK airport, the plane was experiencing technical error on its wheel and need to be pulled to the terminal. Thank God we have already touched down else….. maybe the flight company should improve on its air craft maintenance so that the passengers’ safety is always come first than its turn around time.

When we were in the immigration area, we were required to queue and produce our identification card. The immigration officer issued us a slip and there is a statement in the slip……we were only allowed to remain and stay in Sabah for 3 months. I mean…huh ? I thought we are One Malaysians ? But why we (maybe Peninsular Malaysians) have restrictions in Sabah ?

Anyway, we proceeded to the arrival hall and my sister and brother in law already there waiting for us. He drove us to Borneo Backpackers Lodge to check in. Since it caters mainly for backpackers, the design and decoration is rather simple but without compromising with the guests’ safety by having a security entrance door. Sharing of toilet and shower rooms is common in backpackers’ lodge.

After leaving our belongings in the room, we went to a hill to view the part of Kota Kinabalu city. By that time, it was already in the evening, so we were able to see the beautiful sky that has some gold colors painted on it, just like a paint.

P5091268

The peak of Mount KK was partly covered by the cloud.

P5091276

A view of KK city from the top of a hill.

P5091277

A lovely sun setting scene !

P5091275

The skies are so pretty when it paints with gold color.

P5091279

Fried soft shell crab, crispy and yummy :D

P5091280

Fresh prawn, really good !

P5091281

This is not an ordinary shell we eat at hawker stalls, just imagine we put together 3 normal shells, see it ?

P5091282

The local called it “sweet choy sum”.

P5091284

Steamed Garoupa Fish.

P5091285

Flower Crab steamed with egg.

P5091286

Tung Fung Shell. Great taste for other but me…. like eating a rubber band :D

All the above cost us only RM277.64 inclusive of drinks and rice. I bet this price you will not be able to have it in KL. Wanna to know the name of this restaurant ?

P5091288

Here it is. Hope you can see it. If not, give my brother-in-law a call and he will able to tell you but to go there, unless you are a local or have someone know the place well, else it is a bit hard to find this place as its customers mostly are local, that’s why the price is reasonable. Hope the owner of this restaurant will not increase the price after knowing me promoting his food to people. :D

P5091291

If you prefer KFC, you can have it here. It’s just opposite our lodge.

P5091292

After dinner, if you need some drinks, you have plenty of choices.

P5091293

Need to have 2nd round of drinks ? You can come to Texas.

P5091295

A Dolphine Statue was spotted near the sea side.

We walked around few streets and went back to our lodge at around 11.30pm.

Mount Kinabalu – Day 2

2009
05.08

For those of you who has visited my old blog, we had failed to explore the summit of Gunung / Mount Kutu on 12 April. With the Never Give Up attitude :) , we decided to attempt again to this Mountain on last Sunday.

We saw this beautiful view as we drove along a water dam.

The water was cold enough to wake you up if you were still sleepy.

Our Jungle Expert is using the GPS to make sure we can get to the summit this time.

This tree is so unique !

Look at its roots !

Just want to make sure we are in the right direction.

Getting tougher now….

Guys, watch out, there is a big leech here !

Fungus grows on a tree.

Not easy to pass through these bamboos.

The were many uphill trails.

Just have to watch your feet when you step on this narrow path.

A shoes is in the picture to show how big is this

Hi gentlemen, mind to have a quick shot ?

It won’t be perfect without me

A new discovery

First, this little spider caught our attention.

Then, this Huge rock !

Can you see the size ?

I wish I could have a better camera to take the whole rock into this picture.

Guys, this is so beautiful and is the best place not to be missed. For those who were here before, you know what I am trying to say.

C5 ? Anyone knows what does this means ?

Small wild Rambutan ?

Found a pretty flower.

This is nice also.

This one is in my Top list today !

Finally, we found what we were looking for after about 2 hours 45 mins. The peak of Mount / Gunung Kutu which the GPS shows us the height at 3,491 ft, which is about 1,064 m.

This water well has already dried.

Tiring ? But the reward is great !

Time for lunch now ! :D

What do we have for our lunch ? Chicken curry rice. Mmmmm…. yummy

Our friend here is dare enough to try the Rock Climbing.

This small plant grows on the rock.

A nice view taken from the top of the big rock.

The weather changes very fast, so does the world. That’s why we must keep learning and imrpoving ourselves in order to be able to compete and survive, right ? ;)

We stayed at the summit for about 1 hour before descending and found this cute flower while on our way down.

For those who like to have an enjoyable weekend, this is a good place to bring your family along.

The water is cold enough to refresh our mind and body. If you prefer to stay over night, there are few campsites for you to sing together with insects at night.

As usual, after a hard day, we want reward. :D So, we went to a restaurant in Old Ulu Yam which is famous for its Loh Mee.

Steamed Snakehead Fish

Fish Cakes

We saw this Dirt Bike Race while we were on our way back to Kuala Lumpur.

It took me 10 shots before I could finally captured this. Looks like I have more to learn about the camera skills. :-/

Why waste the time when we can have the opportunity to enjoy the sun set.

Good thing passes very fast in our life and there is one saying that “Life never takes two”. So, cherish everything that we have, especially those that we love very much ! :)

OK, hope you have enjoyed these pictures. By the way, I will be flying to Sabah tomorrow afternoon for my Mission to conquer the Mount Kota Kinabalu. Wish me luck ;) I will bring back lots of pitures to share with you. Cheers ! :D
